Louisiana Career Criminal Sacked Up by Fugitive Task Force

Flees Baton Rouge and Battery Charge – History of Violence

Austin, TX – Wade Jermaine Banks, 30, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana was arrested this morning without incident in the 1000 block of Clayton Lane north of downtown Austin by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force. Banks fled from Baton Rouge after being charged with a battery offense which occurred in July of this year where the victim was brutally beaten, was able to escape, and required hospitalization after sustaining a hairline fracture to her face.

The Austin based task force was alerted to Banks’ location in Austin by the Middle Louisiana Fugitive Task Force early this morning after their local investigation determined that Banks had fled and was hiding out in an apartment complex on Clayton Lane.

Surveillance this morning confirmed Banks’ presence in the apartment and officers made entry arresting Banks. According to Louisiana authorities, Banks has been arrested approximately 25 times for a variety of crimes such as Battery to a Police Officer, Burglary, First Degree Murder, Armed Robbery, Kidnapping, Assaults, and Narcotics.

Robert R. Almonte, United States Marshal for the Western District of Texas states, “Banks needed to be removed from the streets of Austin and the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force responded in a quick manner to hopefully stop Banks from committing further violence. We look forward to sending Banks back to Baton Rouge to account for his criminal conduct.”
