The FBI has arrested an Española man in connection with the
death of a Native American woman.
Douglas D. Smith, 68, is expected to have an initial
appearance in U.S. District Court in Albuquerque on Tuesday.
The victim’s body was found near an Española motel Saturday
morning.
No further information will be released until after the
court hearing.
The public is reminded that all defendants are considered
innocent unless found guilty in a court of law.
