Research Leads to Rapid, Reliable Drug Detection

NIJ-funded researchers at Florida International University have developed a simple device that better identifies parent drugs and their metabolites. Current drug tests used in the field by law enforcement and medical personnel are typically based on how an ingested drug reacts to antibodies contained in the drug test. Those tests are fast but their reliability varies.
