Online Dispute Resolution: Perspectives to Support Successful Implementation and Outcomes in Court Proceedings

 

Court-based online dispute resolution encompasses a vast and growing array of technologies and processes that are used to resolve disputes in the legal system. NIJ-supported researchers convened a virtual panel in May 2020 on online dispute resolution and other virtual platforms for case navigation and resolution. The panel discussed issues relating to the design and implementation of online dispute resolution programs and platforms, strategies to improve access to justice, opportunities to engage potential users, and need for the rigorous research and evaluation of online dispute resolution programs.
