Tampa, FL – U.S. District Judge Elizabeth A. Kovachevich has
sentenced Curtis Williams, Jr. (34, Tampa) to 10 years and 10 months in federal
prison for conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute 28 grams or more
of cocaine base, also known as crack cocaine. He pleaded guilty on November 29,
2016.
According to court documents, between January and July 2016,
Williams and his co-conspirator, Brian Allen, engaged in a mutually beneficial
business arrangement in which Williams supplied Allen with crack cocaine to
sell on the street. During the seven-month period, undercover law enforcement
officers bought crack cocaine from Allen on 12 occasions, totaling more than
128 grams.
Allen pleaded guilty on January 17, 2017. His sentencing
hearing is set for May 12, 2017.
This case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol,
Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives. It was prosecuted by Assistant United States
Attorneys Michael Leeman and Mike Gordon.
