Department of Justice Convenes National Public Safety Partnership Summit

NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Department of Justice will open the National Public Safety Partnership Summit on Monday, Sept. 11. PSP was established in response to President Donald J. Trump’s executive order, which emphasizes the role of the Department of Justice in combating violent crime.

PSP provides an innovative framework to enhance federal support of state, local and tribal law enforcement and prosecution authorities engaged in aggressively investigating and prosecuting violent criminals, specifically those involved in gun crime, drug trafficking and gang violence. Summit attendees will participate in sessions in which they explore topic areas, sample training and technical assistance, and engage in dialogue focused on finding solutions for effectively reducing violence at specific sites.
