United States Attorney Gregory G. Brooker today announced a
criminal complaint charging AVIEL LI GOODMAN, 62, a licensed psychiatrist, with
receipt of child pornography. GOODMAN made his initial appearance today before
Magistrate Judge Menendez in United States District Court in Minneapolis, Minn.
According to the complaint and documents filed in court, on
multiple occasions between March 1, 2015, and August 27, 2017, undercover
agents downloaded numerous image and video files depicting child pornography
from IP addresses connected to GOODMAN’S Saint Paul, Minn. residence. On
January 17, 2018, upon execution of a search warrant on GOODMAN’S residence,
law enforcement seized a computer containing hundreds of image files and
multiple video files of suspected child pornography. The images and videos were
submitted to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) for
analysis and victim identification.
If you know of any child who may have been a victim of
exploitation, please call the National Center for Missing or Exploited Children
(NCMEC) at 1-800-THE-LOST (1-800-843-5678) or visit NCMEC’s web site at
