The FBI is asking the public and media for assistance in identifying a serial armed bank robber. This individual has robbed at least five banks in the New York Cross Island Parkway .
The bank locations that were robbed are as follows:
1.) Queens County Savings Bank—247-53 Jamaica Avenue , Queens , New York . Robbed on August 24, 2010 .
2.) Bank of America 1413 Hempstead Avenue , Elmont , New York . Robbed on July 23, 2010 .
3.) Capital One Bank—32-02 Francis Lewis Boulevard , Flushing , New York . Robbed on June 26, 2010 .
4.) Capital One Bank—233-15 Hillside Avenue , Queens , New York . Robbed on October 8, 2009 .
5.) Capital One Bank—33 Hempstead Avenue , Malverne , New York . Robbed on June 5, 2009 .
The “Parkway Bandit” is described as a black male, between 6’-6’3” tall, and approximately 185 to 200 pounds. During each robbery, he displayed a black handgun, which he removed from a plastic bag. On most occasions, the subject wore a black ski mask, black scarf, or both.
“This is an incredibly dangerous subject who has blatant disregard for the law. This individual needs to be stopped and I encourage everyone to take a hard look at these pictures so we can bring him to justice,” said Special Agent in Charge of the Criminal Division Diego Rodriguez.
“It is clear this individual has a pattern of robbing banks near the Cross Island Parkway . We have been working hard on this case, but we welcome any information, leads, or tips leading to his arrest,” said Supervisory Special Agent Barbara Daly of the FBI’s Joint Bank Robbery Task Force.
