U.S. Marshals to Auction more than 50 High-value Muscle Cars, Sports Cars, Motorcycles, Jet Skis in Miami Thursday




WASHINGTON – The U.S. Marshals Service will sell more than 50 high-value muscle cars, sports cars, motorcycles and jet skis via a live auction Thursday at 10 a.m. at Apple Auctioneering Co.; 14851 NW 27th Ave.; Opa-Locka, FL 33054. The vehicles may be previewed today until 5 p.m. and Thursday from 8-10 a.m.

The vehicles were seized and forfeited to the federal government as part of a pill mill takedown in Broward and Miami-Dade counties in 2011. Proceeds generated from the auction will be deposited into the Department of Justice Assets Forfeiture Fund, which is used to compensate victims, supplement law enforcement programs and support community programs.

The U.S. Marshals Service is responsible for managing and selling seized and forfeited properties acquired by federal criminals through illegal activities. Proceeds generated from asset sales are used to compensate victims, supplement funding for law enforcement initiatives and support community programs. As part of the Department of Justice’s Asset Forfeiture Program, the Marshals currently manage more than 19,000 assets with a value of $4.4 billion.
