In DC, authors and concerned global citizens gathered on a
beautiful rooftop overlooking the Washington Monument. In LA, a similar group
congregated at a trendy neighborhood bookstore. 25 authors offered their
talents, contributing short stories to "Explosions: Stories of our
Landmined World" to increase awareness of landmine contamination and raise
money for MAG.
The forecast for the night of the event warned of scattered
thunderstorms during the timeframe of the Rooftop Reading and yet people came
out and bought a great book to support a great cause. Even the weather
cooperated. The thunderstorm started two hours after the event ended.
