Suspect Accused of Sex Offenses Arrested by U.S. Marshals in Winston-Salem, North Carolina



Greensboro, NC – Yesterday morning at 11:50 AM, Jacquan Kaliek Shelton, a 17 year old, was arrested by members of the U.S. Marshals Joint Fugitive Task Force (JFTF). On November 05, 2015, a warrant was obtained by the Winston-Salem Police Department for Shelton’s arrest. Per the warrant, Shelton was charged with First Degree Sex Offense of a Child and Attempted First Degree Sex Offense of a Child.

On May 19, 2015, the Winston-Salem Police Department conducted a Statutory Sex Offense investigation on Shelton. According to the warrant, Shelton unlawfully, willfully and feloniously did engage in a sex offense with the victim, a child under the age of 13. On November 09, 2015, the JFTF conducted surveillance near the block of 5400 Shirley Jean Court in Winston-Salem. The JFTF was able to positively identify Shelton on a front porch of a residence. The JFTF surrounded and converged upon the residence taking Shelton into custody without incident. Shelton was transported to the Forsyth County Detention Center where he is currently being held without bond.

The U.S. Marshals Joint Fugitive Task Force for the Middle District of North Carolina is comprised of investigators from the U.S. Marshals Service, Immigrations and Customs Enforcement, Chapel Hill Police Department, Durham Police Department, Greensboro Police Department, High Point Police Department, Winston-Salem Police Department, Alamance County Sheriff’s Office, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, Orange County Sheriff’s Office and the North Carolina Department of Public Safety, Department of Community Corrections – Probation & Parole.
