York, PA - Today, United States Marshal Martin J. Pane
announced the arrest of John Patrick, a 46-year old man formerly of Adams
County.
On May 19, 2016, the Cumberland Township Police Department
obtained an arrest warrant charging Patrick with Indecent Assault on a Person
Less than 16 Years of Age, Statutory Sexual Assault, Unlawful Contact with
Minor, Corruption of Minors and Indecent Sexual Intercourse of Person Less than
16.
The fugitive case was adopted by the U.S. Marshals Service
Fugitive Task Force in York, Pennsylvania. During the course of the
investigation, the fugitive task force developed information which indicated
Patrick may have fled to Detroit, Michigan or Maryland. As a result, a
collateral lead was forwarded to the Marshals Detroit office requesting
assistance in locating and arresting Patrick.
On June 18, 2016, Patrick was arrested by our Detroit
Marshals Fugitive Task Force in the area of 13 Mile Road in Roseville, MI. He
did not resist arrest. Patrick was turned over to local authorities and awaits
extradition back to Pennsylvania.
U.S. Marshal Pane stated, “Our society demands alleged
sexual abuse of children be promptly investigated. The U.S. Marshals Service
and our fugitive task force partners help to ensure those persons accused of
these crimes are promptly brought before the courts to answer for such
charges.”
The USMS worked jointly in this investigation with personnel
from the Cumberland Township Police Department, York City Police Department,
York County Sheriff’s Department, Pennsylvania State Police, USMS Eastern
District of Michigan and the Capital Area Fugitive Task Force.
