Ocala, Florida – Tommie Raymond Thomas (50, Sumter County,
Florida) today pleaded guilty to one count of stalking. He faces a maximum
penalty of five years in federal prison. A sentencing hearing has not yet been
set.
According to the plea agreement, while Thomas was an inmate
at the Coleman Federal Correctional Complex, he anonymously sent a series of
five threatening and disturbing letters to a female member of the prison staff.
Those letters contained detailed threats involving kidnapping and sexually abusing
the staffer and others. The letters included photographic collages with cutout
pictures of children pasted onto images of adult pornography.
This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of
Investigation – Ocala Resident Agency. It is being prosecuted by Assistant
United States Attorney William S. Hamilton.
