United States Attorney Ron Parsons announced that a Lake
Andes, South Dakota, man convicted of Abusive Sexual Contact by Force was
sentenced on September 11, 2019, by U.S. District Judge Karen E. Schreier.
Terry Clement Blaine, age 63, was sentenced to 240 months in
federal prison, followed by 10 years of supervised release, and a special
assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund in the amount of $100.
Blaine was indicted by a federal grand jury on November 6,
2018. He pled guilty on June 26, 2019.
The conviction stemmed from incidents that occurred between
2010 and 2013, when Blaine knowingly engaged in sexual contact with a child
under 12 years old. The molestation
occurred while the child visited a relative's home.
This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of
Investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney
Jeffrey C. Clapper prosecuted the case.
Blaine was immediately turned over to the custody of the
U.S. Marshals Service.
