Comstock Agents Seize 200 Pounds of Marijuana, Arrest Gang Member
January 07, 2010: U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Comstock Station seized 199 pounds of marijuana, valued at more than $150,000, Wednesday. Agents patrolling in a remote area west of Comstock, Texas encountered several individuals hiding in heavy brush near the Rio Grande River. Five Mexican nationals were taken into custody and a search of the area yielded four bundles of marijuana. Record checks revealed that one of the subjects is an active member of the “Paisas” criminal gang.
All subjects are being held at the Val Verde County Correctional Facility awaiting court appearance.
