Officers Find a Pound of Marijuana on Juvenile in Douglas
January 04, 2010: U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers stopped a marijuana smuggling attempt when CBP officers detected $1,800 of marijuana being smuggled by a juvenile.On January 2 at about 9 p.m. CBP officers were screening travelers when they became suspicious of a 15-year-old boy who was identified as a United States citizen and resident of Douglas. Further investigation revealed that the boy had about a pound of marijuana taped to his leg. The marijuana had an estimated street value of $1,800.
CBP officers seized the marijuana. The boy was turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement for further questioning. The boy was released to the custody of his parents.
