Whiteriver Man Sentenced to Nine Years in Federal Prison for Abusive Sexual Contact with a Minor


PHOENIX—On June 18, 2012, Akeem Ozzy Johnson, 24, of Whiteriver, Arizona, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge James A. Teilborg to nine years in federal prison. Following his release from prison, Johnson will be placed on lifetime supervised release and will be required to register as a sex offender. Johnson pleaded guilty on March 27, 2012, to abusive sexual contact with a minor.

In September 2008, Johnson became intoxicated at a party on the Ft. Apache Indian Reservation. That night, he sexually abused a young child who was sleeping on the couch at the party.

The investigation in this case was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The prosecution is being handled by Dimitra H. Sampson, Assistant U.S. Attorney, District of Arizona, Phoenix.
