U.S. Marshals Capture Nashville Murder Suspect



Nashville, TN – Yesterday the U.S. Marshals’ Middle Tennessee Joint Fugitive Task Force, backed by Nashville Police, captured a 17-year old suspect in connection with the shooting death of 17-year old Jonathan Johnson. U.S. Marshals arrested the juvenile at an apartment on Oak Valley Drive in Nashville. He surrendered unarmed after complying with commands to exit the apartment.

The juvenile is charged with criminal homicide in a Metro Nashville and Davidson County juvenile court petition and arrest order for the fatal shooting of Pearl-Cohn High School student Jonathan Johnson. Johnson left his home on 10th Avenue North to ride the bus in the early morning hours of April 11. The bus was headed to Pearl-Cohn High School where Johnson was a sophomore. Witnesses reported that the assailant walked up to Johnson, shot him more than once, and then fled the area on foot.

The arrested juvenile was taken to Juvenile Court in Nashville where he will face the charges.
