Nick Wood “was born in 1961 in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. At the age of twenty five, he and his then wife moved to the Gold Coast, also in Queensland, where he resided till 2007 when he was medically retired from the Queensland state police service and – in his words – fled to Asia. He opened a small, modest guesthouse in the Cambodian seaside town of Sihanoukville where he lived for four years before moving to another seaside town in eastern Thailand, where he wrote POLICE, DON’T MOVE! He says of himself that he has three main loves in his life, those being his two daughters and a good book.”
