Memphis, TN - The U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive
Task Force today arrested a man wanted for first degree murder in connection
with a hit-and-run incident.
Cottrell Greene was wanted in connection with a November 16,
2016, incident in which Kenneth White was struck by a vehicle near 285 Elder,
killing him.
The warrant for Green’s arrest was issued today, and the
Marshals task force adopted the case. Greene was located near the 5100 block of
Whitworth and taken into custody. At the time of this release he is at the
Shelby County Jail.
The U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force is
a multiagency task force with divisions in Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi and
Louisiana. The Western Tennessee Division of the GCRFTF has offices in Memphis
and Jackson, and its membership is primarily composed of Deputy U.S. Marshals,
Shelby County Sheriff’s Deputies, Memphis Police Officers, Madison County
Sheriff’s Deputies, Jackson Police Officers, BATF, and the Tennessee Department
of Corrections Special Agents. The primary mission of the Task Force is to
arrest violent offenders and sexual predators.
