Task Force Arrests Fugitive After Making Severe Threats of Violence




Burlington, VT - The U.S. Marshals Service, Vermont Violent Offender Task Force (VVOTF) arrested a fugitive who was wanted for two (2) Felony counts of Violation of an Abuse Prevention Order, Second Offense.

Donald Stetson, 48, of Alburg, Vermont was arrested on April 22, 2014 when located by Deputy U.S. Marshals in Hardwick, VT. Stetson was wanted by the Vermont State Police for two (2) Felony counts of Violation of an Abuse Prevention Order, Second Offense.

On April 4, 2014 a warrant was issued for Stetson’s arrest, as his whereabouts where unknown. On April 16, 2014, the Vermont State Police contacted the U.S. Marshals Service, seeking the assistance in locating Stetson.

Stetson has multiple arrests for Violating Abuse Prevention Orders an extensive history of involvements with various police departments across the state. Stetson is scheduled to be arraigned at Chittenden Criminal Court sometime today.

The arrest was a result of a culmination of investigative efforts by the U.S. Marshals Service, the Vermont State Police and Homeland Security Investigations. All inquiries in regards to this investigation should be directed to the Vermont State Police, Williston Barracks.
