NEW ORLEANS—During a joint Northshore investigation with the
FBI New Orleans Violent Crime Task Force, St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office,
and the Covington Police Department, Keith Anthony Ramirez was arrested for the
alleged robbery of the Capital One Bank located at 830 North Highway 190, Covington,
Louisiana 70433.
On Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at approximately 9:45 a.m.,
Keith Anthony Ramirez, age 33, of Covington, Louisiana, entered the Capital One
Bank, approached the teller counter and presented a note demanding money. After
attempting to obtain money, Ramirez fled the bank in a silver Honda Accord.
Following the dissemination of a law enforcement BOLO to
surrounding agencies for Ramirez and the Honda Accord, at approximately 2:15
p.m. an arrest was made by the Covington Police Department in coordination with
the FBI.
Ramirez was transported to the St. Tammany Parish Jail and
housed in the federal tier awaiting his court appearance.
This matter will be prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office
Eastern District of Louisiana.
The public is reminded criminal complaints and indictments
contain only charges and are not evidence of guilt. Defendants are presumed to
be innocent until and unless proven guilty.
