SAN JUAN, PR—Special Agent in Charge, Douglas A. Leff, of
the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) San Juan Field Office, announced the
arrest of Julian Hernandez-Gonzalez.
On December 14, 2018, a criminal complaint charged Julian
Hernandez-Gonzalez, from Toa Baja, Puerto Rico, with "Knowingly mailing,
transporting, shipping, receiving, distributing, reproducing for distribution,
possessing, or accessing with intent view any visual depiction of minors
engaging in sexually explicit conduct in violation of Title 18, United States
Code, Section 2252(A)."
Hernandez-Gonzalez was arrested on December 14 without
incident at his residence in Toa Alta by agents of the FBI San Juan Child
Exploitation Task Force.
If convicted, Hernandez-Gonzalez faces a potential penalty
of up to 20 years of imprisonment.
This case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States
Attorney (AUSA) Nicholas Cannon and investigated by the FBI.
The public is reminded that a criminal complaint contains
only charges and is not evidence of guilt. Defendants are presumed innocent
until and unless proven guilty.
