PITTSBURGH, Pa. – A resident of Beaver County has been
sentenced in federal court to a term of imprisonment of five years and five
months (65 months), to be followed by three years of supervised release, on
charges of bank robbery, United States Attorney Scott W. Brady announced today.
Senior United States District Court Judge Joy Flowers Conti
imposed the sentence on Ernest Dewayne Taylor, 50, of Beaver Falls, PA.
According to information presented to the court, on August
17, 2018, Taylor entered the Huntington Bank located at 921 3rd Avenue, New
Brighton, Pennsylvania and passed a teller a note indicating that he was armed
and demanding cash. As a result of the robbery, Taylor obtained $600.00 in U.S.
currency.
Assistant United States Attorney Robert C. Schupansky
prosecuted this case on behalf of the government.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the New Brighton
Area Police Department conducted the investigation leading to the Indictment in
this case.
