United States Attorney Ron Parsons announced that a Pine
Ridge, South Dakota, woman was acquitted of Second Degree Murder as a result of
a federal jury trial in Rapid City, South Dakota, on February 21, 2020.
Doreen Brown, age 44, was indicted by a federal grand jury
on July 9, 2019.
The charges related to the stabbing death of Brown’s
boyfriend at Pine Ridge on June 27, 2019.
The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of
Investigation and the Oglala Sioux Tribe Department of Public Safety. The U.S. Attorney's Office prosecuted the
case.
