North Olmstead Man Sentenced for Bank Robbery

Robert M. Bey was sentenced to 30 months in prison for robbing a bank in Columbia Station, Ohio last year, Steven Dettelbach, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio, announced today.

Bey, 33, of North Olmstead, Ohio, robbed $3,699 from the First Merit Bank at
26570 Royalton Road, Columbia
Station on October 15, 2010, according to court documents.

He was also ordered to pay full restitution to First Merit Bank in the amount of $3,669.

Bey previously pleaded guilty to the indictment, which charged that Bey did by force, violence, and intimidation, take money from the person, presence, and custody of a bank teller, the deposits of which were then insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Christos N. Georgalis. The investigation was conducted by agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
