MARQUETTE, MI—Christopher Frazier, 39, of Escanaba, Michigan, plead guilty to one count of aggravated sexual abuse of a child under the age of 12, and one count of attempted aggravated sexual abuse of a minor under the age of 12, United States Attorney Donald A. Davis announced today. Frazier admitted to sexually assaulting and attempting to sexually assault two children who at the time were under the age of 12, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 2241(c). Aggravated sexual abuse is punishable by up to life imprisonment and other penalties. Frazier's sentence will be imposed by U.S. District Court Judge R. Allen Edgar at a date to be announced.
The case was investigated by the Bay Mills Indian Community Tribal Law Enforcement, the Sault Ste. Marie City Police Department, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. U.S. Attorney Davis stated that the United States Attorney's Office is committed to working with tribal and local law enforcement to ensure that violent crime in Indian Country is addressed in an efficient, effective manner.
