Monday, Carrizo Springs agents patrolling in an area ranch observed foot sign near Highway 277 and discovered five abandoned military-style duffel bags containing over 220 pounds of marijuana. The narcotics have an approximate street value of $176,800.
Tuesday, Eagle Pass North agents patrolling near the Rio Grande River observed several subjects loading large duffel bags into a 1998 Ford pickup truck. As agents approached the vehicle, it fled the area in an attempt to avoid apprehension but was stopped nearby. Agents discovered five military-style duffel bags and arrested the driver. The duffel bags containing more than 400 pounds of marijuana worth approximately $333,360.
Both cases were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
