El Centro, Calif. – Over the weekend, U.S. Border Patrol agents from the El Centro Sector arrested one suspect smuggling marijuana worth more than $840,000 across the U.S.-Mexico border.The incident occurred after Border Patrol agents operating the remote video surveillance system observed a vehicle illegally entering the United States. Border Patrol agents responding to the area apprehended one subject, and seized a stolen Nissan Sport Utility vehicle and 89 bundles of marijuana. The marijuana weighed approximately 1,057 pounds and was given an estimated street value of $846,000.

The driver, a 43-year-old male Mexican citizen, was arrested and turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration along with the marijuana and stolen vehicle.
