National Conversation Focuses on Communicating During Flash Flood Events

In the aftermath of recent severe floods in Maryland, South Carolina and Louisiana, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security would like to explore methods communities can use to warn the public of a rapidly approaching flash flood, particularly methods that can be used when the power is out and cellular service is failing. To provide input into the National Conversation on approaches communities can take to issue public alerts and warnings, visit http://scitech.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Flood-message-communication/522192-30851#idea-tab-comments

The National Conversation is intended to bring together responders, operational users, citizens, academia and industry to play a role in shaping the future of homeland security technology.
