Durham, NC - On February 18, 2016, at approximately 8:40 am,
Anthony Jerome Brown, 33, was arrested by members of the U.S. Marshals Joint
Fugitive Task Force (JFTF) and the Durham Police Department. On December 21,
2015, warrants were issued for Brown by the Durham Police Department for
following charges: robbery with a dangerous weapon (firearm), conspiracy
robbery with a dangerous weapon (firearm), robbery with a dangerous weapon,
conspiracy robbery with a dangerous weapon, possession of firearm by a
convicted felon, habitual felon, assault by pointing a gun & federal
supervised release violation warrant. Mr. Brown is a validated gang member
“BLOOD”.
On December 21, 2015 at around 8:15 PM, officers responded
to an armed robbery of The Athlete’s Foot store at 4215 University Drive. Three
males with their faces covered and armed with guns entered the business and
took several pairs of Air Jordan Retro 8 tennis shoes. The suspects fled the store
with several pair of tennis shoes. Officers conducted a security sweep of the
business with negative results.
Information was developed that led the JFTF to an address of
424 Devlin Place in Durham, North Carolina. He was taken into custody without
incident and transported to the Durham Police Substation Three for processing.
Details concerning conditions of his release are not available at this time.

District of North Carolina is comprised of investigators from the U.S. Marshals
Service, Chapel Hill Police Department, Durham Police Department, Greensboro Police
Department, High Point Police Department, Winston-Salem Police Department,
Alamance County Sheriff’s Office, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, the
North Carolina Department of Public Safety, Department of Community Corrections
– Probation & Parole and the Department of Homeland Security, Immigrations
and Customs Enforcement.
