Suspect in 2006 Topeka Cold Case Homicide Arrested in St. Louis



Topeka, KS – Johnathan Davion Mango was arrested in St. Louis, Missouri on February 8, 2016. Mango, age 31, was wanted by the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office for second degree murder. A warrant was recently issued for Mango’s arrest for a murder which occurred in Topeka, KS back in March of 2006. Topeka Police Department Detectives worked intensely during their investigation to develop Mango as a suspect at which time they requested assistance from the United States Marshals Service Apprehension Task Force to locate and arrest Mango.

Information was developed that Mango was most likely residing in the Florissant, Missouri area. With the assistance of the Metro East Fugitive Task Force, Mango was located in Florissant, Missouri, positively identified and taken into custody without incident. Mango was later booked into the St. Louis County Jail where he will be held in lieu of a $500,000 bond. US Marshal for the District of Kansas Ronald Miller said, “This is what our task forces were designed to do, provide assistance to our local partners and remove the most violent fugitives from our streets.”

The Kansas Apprehension Task Force, is a multi-jurisdictional fugitive task force is comprised of the United States Marshals Service, Topeka Police Department, Shawnee County Sheriff’s Department, and Kansas Department of Corrections.
