U.S. Marshals Arrest Non-Compliant Sex Offender



McFarland, WI - The Badgerland Fugitive Investigative Apprehension Squad which is comprised of members of the U.S. Marshals Service, Dane County Sheriff’s Department, Sauk County Sheriff’s Department, Wisconsin Department of Corrections and Wisconsin Criminal Investigations (DCI) arrested 35 year old Jeremy Simons in McFarland, WI. Simons had been wanted by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections since October of 2014 for violating the terms of his parole. Simons was on parole after being convicted in Rock County, WI for possession of child pornography and causing a child under the age of 13 to listen/view a sex act. Simons was also wanted by the Rock County Sherriff’s department for a sex offender registry violation and obstructing law enforcement.

Simons was actively being sought by the Badgerland Fugitive Apprehension Squad when new information in the investigation provided a possible address in McFarland, WI. With assistance from the McFarland Police Department, the Badgerland Fugitive Apprehension Squad was able to locate and arrest Simons without incident on February 19, 2016. Simons also faces a new charge in Dane County for failing to register as a sex offender.

The U.S. Marshals Service, established in 1789, is the nation’s oldest federal law enforcement agency. More federal fugitives are apprehended by the U.S. Marshals each year than by all other federal agencies combined.
