Special agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms
and Explosives Seattle Field Division and ATF Special Response Team executed a
search warrant in unincorporated Snohomish County, Wash., Wednesday evening,
Jan. 11.
As part of the warrant, one man was taken into federal
custody at a separate location.
Seattle Police Department SWAT and detection K9 teams
assisted ATF in executing the warrant.
The Special Response Team, known as the SRT, conducts
high-risk enforcement operations, including search and arrest warrants. ATF has five SRTs based around the United
States, deploying to the 25 field divisions as needed. The SRTs have conducted
more than 50 operations this fiscal year. In fiscal year 2016, the SRT
conducted 206 operations.
Seattle is ATF’s largest field division by geographic area,
with over 950,000 square miles of territory, covering Washington state, Idaho,
Oregon, Alaska, Hawaii and Guam and the Commonwealth of Northern Mariana
Islands.
Details about any charges stemming from today’s warrant
execution, or information on evidence recovered, should be addressed to the
