ALBANY, NEW YORK – Marty Humphrey, age 65, of Schenectady,
New York, was sentenced yesterday to 15 months in prison, to be followed by 3
years of supervised release, for conspiring to distribute cocaine and crack
cocaine.
The announcement was made by United States Attorney Grant C.
Jaquith and Vadim D. Thomas, Special Agent in Charge of the Albany Field Office
of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
Humphrey pled guilty on March 9, 2018, admitting to
conspiring to distribute cocaine and crack cocaine in Schenectady, between
August 2016 and May 2017. He was
prosecuted as part of a takedown of a drug trafficking ring that operated in
Schenectady and Albany. Charges are still pending against several of Humphrey’s
co-defendants. The charges against them
are merely accusations, and they are each presumed innocent unless and until
proven guilty
Humphrey’s case was investigated by the FBI and its Capital
District Safe Streets Gang Task Force, and was prosecuted by Assistant U.S.
Attorney Michael Barnett.
