MARTINSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA – Angela Dawn Roberts, of
Stephenson, Virginia was ordered to pay more than $22,000 in restitution and
sentenced to five years probation for identity theft, United States Attorney
Bill Powell announced.
Roberts, age 42, pled guilty to one count of “Identity
Theft” in July 2017. Roberts admitted to using another’s identifying
information to commit bank fraud. The crime occurred June 27, 2016 in Berkeley
County, West Virginia.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Lara Omps-Botteicher prosecuted the
case on behalf of the government. The Federal Bureau of Investigation
investigated.
Chief U.S. District Judge Gina M. Groh presided.
