PHOENIX, Ariz. –
This week, Jerracy Gilmore, of Chilchinbeto, Ariz., was sentenced by U.S.
District Judge Dominic W. Lanza to six years of imprisonment to be followed by
three years of supervised release.
Gilmore had previously pleaded guilty to assault resulting in serious
bodily injury.
On February 26,
2019, Gilmore fired a gun multiple times at an occupied vehicle. One of the shots he fired struck a victim in
the ankle. The crime occurred outside a
residence in Chilchinbeto, Ariz., on the Navajo Nation, and both Gilmore and
the victim are enrolled members of the Navajo Nation.
The investigation
in this case was conducted by the Navajo Nation Division of Public Safety and
the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The
prosecution was handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Alexander Samuels, District
of Arizona, Phoenix.
