Attempted Murder Suspect Fled San Pablo, Captured in New Jersey

March 9, 2010 - San Francisco, CA – United States Marshal Federico Rocha of the Northern District of California announces the arrest of Maurice Baldwin. The U.S. Marshals Service New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Baldwin, 31, Thursday in East Orange, N.J., without incident. Baldwin is awaiting extradition back to San Pablo, California

Allegedly Baldwin robbed and shot an elderly female victim in San Pablo on the 72 Line of the AC Transit that runs from Jack London Square to Hilltop Mall. Baldwin was a parolee at large out of Sacramento with a no-bail warrant from California Department of Corrections and a $1.1 million warrant for attempted murder from San Pablo Police Department.

This arrest was a result of a joint initiative combining the U.S. Marshals Northern California Fugitive Task Force, Fugitive Recovery Enforcement Team, and the San Pablo Police Department.
