Illinois Man Pleads Guilty to Gasconade County Bank Robbery

March 5, 2010 - ST. LOUIS, MO—The United States Attorney’s Office announced today that Mario Obryan Wright has pleaded guilty to the August 8, 2009, robbery of the Legends Bank in Bland, Missouri.

"I would like to commend the employees of the Legends Bank in Bland, their courage and decisive actions in this case in the apprehension of Mr. Wright," said Sheriff Randy Esphorst, Gasconade County Sheriff.

MARIO OBRYAN WRIGHT, Fairmont City, Illinois, pleaded guilty to one felony count of bank robbery this morning before United States District Judge Charles A. Shaw, in St. Louis.

He now faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and/or fines up to $250,000 when he is sentenced on June 3, 2010.

This case was investigated by the Gasconade and Franklin County Sheriff’s Departments, the Bland City Marshal’s Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
