FBI and Police Seeking Rutherford Bank Robber

NEWARK, NJ—The FBI and the Rutherford Police Department are seeking the public's assistance to identify and locate the subject responsible for the robbery of the Wells Fargo Bank located at 5 Sylvan Street, Rutherford, New Jersey that occurred today at approximately 11:44 a.m.

A lone white male entered the bank, lingered at the deposit slip counter for a short time, and then approached the teller counter. Once he was face to face with the teller, the man stated his intention to rob the bank and demanded all of the money the teller had. The man kept his left hand in his coat pocket, though he never displayed a weapon. The teller gave the robber an undisclosed sum of money. The robber then fled the bank on foot.

The robber was described as a white male, (olive complexion) 5'3" -5'4" tall, 140 lbs, mid 30s, with a crooked upper tooth, unshaven, short dark brown hair, brown eyes, wearing a dirty tan baseball cap (with something on the front), olive-colored Carhart jacket, and jeans.

The FBI offers rewards for information leading to the capture of bank robbers and other FBI fugitives. The subject is considered armed and dangerous. No citizen should ever attempt to apprehend a fugitive on his or her own. In an emergency, please dial 911.
