DAVENPORT, IA — On July 21, 2011, Drew Alan O’Dell, age 46, of Eldridge, Iowa, was sentenced for possession with intent to distribute marijuana and for being a drug user in possession of firearms, announced United States Attorney Nicholas A. Klinefeldt. O’Dell was sentenced to two years imprisonment and two years supervised release by United States Chief District Judge Robert W. Pratt.
On August 20, 2010, officers executed a traffic stop on O’Dell’s vehicle as part of a drug investigation. O’Dell fled from officers and discarded marijuana from his vehicle during flight. O’Dell was later apprehended and a search warrant was obtained for his residence. Approximately two pounds of marijuana, $5,000 in cash, and multiple semi–automatic weapons were recovered during the search.
The case was investigated by the Bettendorf Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and was prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s Office, Southern District of Iowa.
