David B. Fein, United States Attorney
for the District of Connecticut, announced that Brent Q. Hansen, 49, of
Seminole, Florida, pleaded guilty today before United States District Judge
Janet C. Hall in Bridgeport to one count of making harassing telephone calls.
According to court documents and
statements made in court, from approximately March 2011 through June 2012,
Hansen telephoned employees at a company in Hartford and left approximately 270
harassing voicemail messages for them. In his messages, Hansen repeatedly
states that the individuals are cursed, that God will damn their souls, and
that he hopes God will kill them. During this time period, Hansen also
repeatedly sent harassing e-mails to the employees.
Judge Hall has scheduled sentencing for
October 18, 2012, at which time Hansen faces a maximum term of imprisonment of
two years and a fine of up to $250,000.
Hansen has been detained in federal
custody since his arrest on July 5, 2012.
This case is being investigated by the
Federal Bureau of Investigation. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant
United States Attorney Neeraj Patel.
