Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested in Winston-Salem by U.S. Marshals



Winston-Salem, NC – On October 6, 2015 around 7:50 am, Mr. Brandon Alexander Smith, a 19 year old male, was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Middle District of North Carolina Joint Fugitive Task Force (JFTF) and the Winston-Salem Police Department. Mr. Smith had three felony warrants for Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon. The warrants stemmed from an incident that occurred on September 23, 2015 in the 2000 Block of 14th Street where the Winston-Salem Police Department responded to a report of an armed robbery. The victims allege that Mr. Brandon Smith robbed them of currency and property by threatening them with a firearm.

On October 6, 2015, the JFTF conducted surveillance around the 1600 block of 22nd Street. Information was developed that Mr. Smith was inside a residence near that location. The JFTF surrounded the residence and the occupants of the home exited. Mr. Smith refused to exit the residence. The JFTF entered the residence and located him in a bedroom where Mr. Smith was taken into custody. Mr. Smith was transported to the Forsyth County Detention Center and served with the outstanding warrants. Smith was processed and placed under a $75,000 bond.

The U.S. Marshals Joint Fugitive Task Force for the Middle District of North Carolina is comprised of investigators from the U.S. Marshals Service, Chapel Hill Police Department, Durham Police Department, Greensboro Police Department, High Point Police Department, Winston-Salem Police Department, Alamance County Sheriff’s Office, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, Orange County Sheriff’s Office and the North Carolina Department of Public Safety, Department of Community Corrections – Probation & Parole.
