Greensboro, NC – The man who is responsible for putting a
pregnant woman in the hospital after a physical altercation on September 30,
2015, is in custody. On October 16, 2015, Nickolian Jerome York, a 30 year old,
was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Joint Fugitive Task Force (JFTF) out of
Greensboro. York was wanted by the High Point Police Department for Felony
Assault Inflicting Injury to an Unborn Child, Felony Assault Inflicting Serious
Injury, Assault on a Female and Habitual Misdemeanor Assault. The warrants for
arrest were issued out of Guilford County on October 02, 2015.
On September 30, 2015, the High Point Police Department
responded to Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, regarding a pregnant woman who
had suffered injuries from an assault. It is alleged that York assaulted his
girlfriend after a verbal altercation that turned physical. As a result of the
assault, the unborn child had to be delivered at 25 weeks and remains in the
hospital. The victim was also admitted to the hospital as a result of the
injuries from the assault.
On October 16, 2015, investigative efforts led the JFTF to
the vicinity of 95 Denise Drive in Burlington where York was arrested without
incident. York was transported to the High Point County Jail where he is
currently being held on the alleged charges.
The U.S. Marshals Joint Fugitive Task Force for the Middle
District of North Carolina is comprised of investigators from the U.S. Marshals
Service, Chapel Hill Police Department, Durham Police Department, Greensboro
Police Department, High Point Police Department, Winston-Salem Police
Department, Alamance County Sheriff’s Office, the North Carolina State Highway
Patrol, Orange County Sheriff’s Office and the North Carolina Department of
Public Safety, Department of Community Corrections – Probation & Parole.
