Memphis, TN - For months Cortez Rivers has been wanted for
Rape of a Child and Aggravated Sexual Battery. Today the U.S. Marshals Gulf
Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force brought him to justice.
On April 27, 2016 two warrants were issued for Cortez Rivers
by the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office. One was for Rape of a Child and
Aggravated Sexual Battery. On September 26 this case was adopted by
investigators with the Marshals Task Force.
On October 12 investigators tracked the fugitive to an
apartment located on the 2300 block of Dwight. The apartment was searched and
the fugitive was located hiding in a closet.
Rivers was transported to the Shelby County Jail without
incident.
