Special agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms
and Explosives (ATF) Seattle Field Division and the ATF Special Response Team
executed a search warrant in Federal Way June 12.
Assisting with the warrant were members of the Seattle
Police Department SWAT team; Washington Department of Corrections, Federal Way
Police Department, and the Valley Narcotics Enforcement Team, which is
comprised of Drug Enforcement Administration special agents and detectives from
various cities south of Seattle.
The Special Response Team, known as the SRT, conducts
high-risk enforcement operations, including search and arrest warrants. ATF has
five SRTs based around the United States, deploying to the 25 field divisions
as needed.
Seattle is ATF’s largest field division by geographic area,
with over 950,000 square miles of territory, covering Washington, Idaho,
Oregon, Alaska, Hawaii, Guam, American Samoa and the Commonwealth of Northern
Mariana Islands.
