Ralph S. Boelter, Special Agent in Charge of the Minneapolis FBI Office, today announces the arrest of Cruze Anthony White of Redby , Minnesota . White has been a federal fugitive since being charged by criminal complaint on November 17, 2010 , for one count of murder in the second degree and two counts of assault with intent to commit murder. These charges stemmed from his role in the shooting death of Julian Keith DeMarrias, 22, of Redby, on November 3, 2010 . Jerrick DeMarrias and Orland James Spears, both 19 and from Redby, were seriously wounded in the shooting.
Investigators have been aggressively trying to locate White since he was charged. An FBI Agent interviewed a member of White's family as recently as last Friday. Red Lake Police Department Officers followed up on two tips concerning White's whereabouts yesterday afternoon, but did not locate him. Shortly thereafter, White contacted a Deputy United States Marshal in order to arrange his surrender. At approximately last night, White surrendered to the Deputy Marshal and FBI Agents on a highway located on the Red Lake Indian Reservation. He was taken into federal custody without incident.
White will have his Initial Appearance in Federal Court in Bemidji at this afternoon. His accomplice in the November 3, 2010 , shooting incident, Donald Leigh Clark, Jr., was arrested on January 15, 2011 .
