CBP Arrests Wanted Felon Arriving from Dominican Republic

San Juan, P.R. – Jose Eduardo Jerez-Valdez, 35, a citizen of the Dominican Republic, was arrested this weekend by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers after his arrival at the Luis Munoz Marin International Airport from Santo Domingo.

Upon arrival, Jerez-Valdez presented himself for inspection where computer systems alerted the CBP Officer of a positive match to a National Crime Information Center docket.

An outstanding warrant for the arrest of Mr. Jerez-Valdez issued March 9, 2010, by the U.S. District Court in San Juan for offenses related to the buying, selling and dealing in controlled substances.

The custody of Mr. Jerez-Valdez was transferred to Immigration and Customs Enforcement Homeland Security Investigations for further proceedings.
