Lancaster Man Charged with Assaulting a Law Enforcement Officer

Christopher Jay London was charged today by indictment with forcibly assaulting a federal law enforcement officer while engaged in the performance of his duties, announced United States Attorney Zane David Memeger

The indictment alleges that on January 6, 2011, London forcibly grabbed a deputy marshal and struck the side of the deputy marshal’s face with his (London’s) head, causing the deputy marshal to bleed and requiring multiple stitches to close the wound.

AGE OR DATE OF BIRTH: 30 years old

If convicted, the defendant faces a maximum possible sentence of eight years’ imprisonment, a $250,000 fine, three years’ supervised release, and a $100 special victims/witness assessment.

The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Allentown Resident Agency, and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Seth Weber.

An Indictment or Information is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
