Sault Ste Marie, Mich.– U.S. Customs and Border Protection Field Operations announced today the relocation of the NEXUS Enrollment Center to a newly constructed area in the port of entry at the International Bridge.
“This newly dedicated space provides for a safe and private environment in which to enroll prospective members to the NEXUS program,” said Devin Chamberlain, Port Director for CBP Field Operations in Sault Ste Marie, Mich.
The newly dedicated space within the POE was funded by the U.S. General Services Administration is expected to enhance and streamline the NEXUS enrollment operations at the port of entry. The space allows for a more relaxed atmosphere with private interview areas, as opposed to the public lobby that was previously used.
NEXUS is a joint operation between CBP and Canada Border Services Agency to identify trusted travelers who are provided expedited processing at northern border ports of entry, at NEXUS kiosks at Canadian Preclearance airports, and at marine reporting locations.
